Older fuse boards and new electrical loads
An older board, insufficient space or a planned equipment installation can be a reason to arrange an assessment. FH checks the work required for the circuits, protection, earthing, enclosure and metering. A photograph helps with the initial review but does not replace inspection and testing.
Coordinate solar, batteries and EV charging
A new battery, backup gateway or EV charger can require changes to circuit protection, board layout, isolation or supply capacity. Tell FH what equipment is planned so these requirements can be included in one agreed scope rather than discovered after installation.
Clear scope for protection and metering work
The quote identifies the equipment and circuits included, any metering or consumer-mains changes, supply interruption and testing. Existing wiring defects, asbestos-containing panels or access restrictions may require separate assessment and an agreed variation before further work.

- Site address and whether it is a house, shop or commercial building.
- Photos of the existing switchboard and meter taken from a safe position, without opening covers.
- The equipment or upgrade you are planning, plus any network notice or project drawings.
- Access restrictions and your preferred timing.
FH reviews the information, confirms whether a site visit is needed and issues a written scope and price. Availability, network approval and any additional work are confirmed for your site.
Common questions
Does every switchboard upgrade need a three phase supply?
No. The required supply phase depends on the property and equipment. A board upgrade and a three phase supply upgrade are different scopes and are assessed separately.
Will the electricity be switched off?
A planned interruption is often needed for switchboard work. FH confirms the arrangements and access requirements for the agreed job before scheduling.
Can you quote from a photo?
Photos and equipment details help FH assess the request. A site visit or further testing may be required before a final scope and price can be confirmed. Do not remove switchboard covers to take photographs.
